Hanne Thomsen, a sophomore at Santa Rosa Montgomery High in California, won the Bill Buettner girls championship race by clocking 17:04.2 on the 5-kilometer layout at the 43rd ASICS Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Thomsen improved to the No. 5 sophomore competitor all-time at Woodward Park and elevated into the top 25 female athletes in course history.
