Seelah Kittelstrom and Amrie Lacefield, junior teammates at Santa Rosa Montgomery High in California, placed second and fourth, respectively, in the girls varsity medium school race at the 44th ASICS Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Kittelstrom covered the 5-kilometer layout in 18:02.8 and Lacefield ran 18:14.0, helping Montgomery take 18th place as a team with 506 points. Montgomery competed without junior Hanne Thomsen, who finished fifth in the Bill Buettner girls championship race in 17:23.1.
